Anti-Trump protests broke out in big cities and college campuses across America and the world on Wednesday in the wake of Tuesday’s stunning election results.
From New York City and Chicago to Philadelphia and even London, thousands of protesters turned out to express their disgust over Trump’s surprise victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

These demonstrations are just the first in what is likely to be a long line of protests following Donald Trump’s shocking rise to the presidency. They also seem to indicate just how stark the divide is between big cities with young and diverse populations and rural parts of America that turned out in big numbers to propel Trump to victory over Clinton.
If there is a long-term silver lining to last night’s stunner, it’s that the future of America looks a lot more like the people marching against Trump on Wednesday than those who elected him the day before.
