Remorseless Trump Gloats About Being Busted For Horrific Bragging About Sexual Assault

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reacted to the nation’s rejection of his vile bragging about sexual assault by gloating, saying it’s been an “interesting 24 hours!”

What has been “interesting” for Donald Trump has been horrific for the women of this country, many of whom recognize in his dehumanizing language support for the kind of environment in which sexual harassment and assault thrive.

“Nearly one in five women surveyed said they had been raped or had experienced an attempted rape at some point, and one in four reported having been beaten by an intimate partner. One in six women have been stalked,” according to info gathered in 2011.

Women in the military, children, young women in college – these are the victims of sexual assault.

Three percent of American men have been the victims of sexual assault.

Of victims under 18, “34% of victims of sexual assault and rape are under age 12. 66% of victims of sexual assault and rape are age 12-17.”

Rape and sexual assault aren’t something a victim can “avoid” by not going to clubs. Here’s the breakdown of where rape occurs, per RAINN:

48% were sleeping, or performing another activity at home
29% were traveling to and from work or school, or traveling to shop or run errands
12% were working
7% were attending school
5% were doing an unknown or other activity

And these statistics are just for rape. They do not include sexual assault, which most women do not end up reporting. This is what Donald Trump bragged about, kissing and grabbing a woman by her “p*ssy” without her consent.

This is what Donald Trump calls interesting.

Why? Because even in his forced midnight apology, Donald Trump never showed an ounce of remorse or concern for his victims or the woman he objectified as an “It”. Donald Trump doesn’t get it. He doesn’t care.

What Donald Trump cares about is how unfair it is that this tape was released.

And now he’s going to exact revenge by digging into Hillary Clinton for things her husband was accused of doing in right wing conspiracies.

At no point does Donald Trump take responsibility for the kind of rhetoric he’s imposing on our children or for what this is doing to women around this nation who hear him blowing this off and gaslighting them, and feel diminished.

Donald Trump is also enraging women who recognize in his words the perpetrators they’ve had to deal with at home or work or in school.

It’s not “interesting” to have this normalized by a presidential candidate. It’s a devastating outrage, and it’s not just women who are upset. I’ve gotten note after note from men who say as a father or husband this is enraging them.

It’s not “interesting”; it’s horrific.

Donald Trump’s reaction and the exclamation point after it implies that he’s so amused, and this is no biggie. He’s gloating that he’s fine, he’s coming to the debate and it’s going to be an attack on Hillary Clinton.

That’s exactly the kind of reaction women around this country recognize from the predators who have come after them. The predator is never sorry he hurt his victim, he never takes responsibility, he sees himself as a victim, and he turns his actions around to blame his victims for his behavior.

Then he laughs, because after all, his victims are just women. And we all know they aren’t human beings.
