Hillary Clinton needed less than one minute to expose Trump’s trip to Mexico as the Republican nominee’s latest empty publicity stunt.

While speaking at The American Legion Convention in Cincinnati, OH, Clinton said:
You don’t build a coalition by insulting our friends or acting like a loose cannon. You do it by putting in the slow hard work of build relationships. Getting countries to work together was my job every day as your secretary of state. It’s more than a photo-op. It takes consistency and reliability. Actually, it’s just like building personal relationships. People have to get to know that they can count on you. That you won’t say one thing one day, and then say something totally different the next. And it certainly takes more than trying to make up for a year of insults and insinuations by dropping in on our neighbors for a few hours and then flying home again. That is not how it works.
Clinton’s point was that being president involves more than quick fly-ins for photo-ops. Being president requires policies, leadership, trustworthiness, and commitment to hard work that almost always occurs with no cameras present.
Donald Trump is really good at getting headlines but has not demonstrated any interest in, or capacity for, the actual job of being president. Trump thinks that going to Mexico will make him look like a president, but the presidency isn’t a superficial job.
Looks don’t matter. It’s the ability to carry out the sworn duties of the job that matter, and Donald J. Trump has repeatedly proven himself to be both disinterested in the duties of the presidency and an incompetent manager of his own presidential campaign.
