Hillary Clinton And Bernie Sanders Terrify The Koch Brothers With A Single Sentence

Last updated on July 17th, 2023 at 07:10 pm

If the sight of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton standing together wasn’t enough to scare the right-wing billionaires, Hillary Clinton’s vow to force all candidates to disclose their donors should terrify the Koch brothers.

Video:

While discussing campaign finance reform, Clinton said, “As Bernie as his supporters have argued so eloquently, we won’t get anywhere without overhauling our campaign finance system. It is past time to end the stranglehold of wealthy special interests in Washington, and get back to government of the people, by the people, and for the people. That’s why as a president from my very first days, I will make campaign finance reform a top priority. We will do everything we can to overturn Citizens United. And we will require everybody Democrats, Republicans, Independents whoever to disclose all of their donors, and while we’re at it, we’re going to creating a small donor matching system to make it easy for more Americans to be elected at every level of government.”

There was a double whammy in Clinton’s statement for the Koch brothers. Not only will (potential) President Clinton work to force every candidate to disclose their donors, but she is going to undercut the power of the big dark money check by creating a small donor matching system.

The small donor matching system if it became a reality would be a great stride forward in tearing down the money barrier that prevents many good and talented Americans of all political stripes from running for office.

Sen. Sanders endorsement of Hillary Clinton has already made today a very bad day for Donald Trump , but if Clinton served notice that if she wins the election, her goal will be to hold the Koch brothers and other billionaires publicly accountable for their attempt to buy our government.
