With A Straight Face, Ivanka Trump Says Her Father Is A Feminist

The steep climb that all Trump supporters must endure is attempting to convince undecided voters that their candidate is not the guy he acts like on the campaign trail.

Trump’s dog-whistle politics and outright bigotry doesn’t mean he’s actually a racist, they say. His self-congratulatory and reckless responses to national tragedies don’t make him temperamentally unfit to be commander-in-chief, they promise. His Twitter tantrums, childish insults, and obvious lack of knowledge on the issues – these are examples of Trump “telling it like it is” and not being a politically correct wimp, they claim.

These are only some of the many circles one must square in order to work their way to supporting Trump, despite all the evidence that their candidate is simply unqualified to be president.

Ivanka Trump, daughter of the candidate, has come up with another hilarious alternate reality: Donald Trump is “a feminist.”

Perhaps to Trump and his most loyal supporters, all one must do to be an advocate for women is creepily repeat how much you “cherish” them, but that doesn’t mean much when actions tell another story.

Despite what he says, the presumptive Republican nominee has an actual record of insulting rhetoric toward women and policy proposals that would adversely impact them.

He has said that it’s “very dangerous” to allow a wife to work. He thinks that women who breastfeed are “disgusting.” He once told a female reporter that she wouldn’t have her job if she wasn’t beautiful. According to him, bad media coverage doesn’t matter much as long as “you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

After Fox News Host Megyn Kelly asked Trump about his history of calling women he doesn’t like “fat pigs,” “dogs,” “slobs” and “disgusting animals,” Trump essentially said that Kelly’s tough question was directly related to her menstrual cycle.

Trump wants to criminalize abortion, defund Planned Parenthood and repeal the same health care law that has given millions of women access to free contraceptives. He has suggested that the reason women don’t make the same amount of money as men is because they don’t “do as good a job.”

Ivanka Trump’s claim that her father is an advocate for women is completely at odds with Trump’s campaign promises and his history of comments toward women. Then again, most assertions made by Trump supporters are directly contradicted by evidence.

It’s true that Donald Trump is a lot of things, but a feminist ain’t one of them.
