MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough has turned on Donald Trump and told Hillary Clinton exactly how to defeat the presumptive Republican nominee.
On Politico’s Off Message podcast, Scarborough claimed that he and Trump are friends, but not friends. Scarborough also called Trump crazy, and told the world how to defeat him:
According to Politico, Scarborough told the world how to beat Trump and what really gets under Trump’s skin:
“I think you’d just go to him. He’s a bully, and you don’t let bullies bully people. You just mock him. See, the one thing Donald Trump can’t stand is people calling him out, and instead of becoming indignant about it, laugh at him. Which he hates. Oh, really? Really, Donald? He is insecure. That’s always driven him — I’ll say it — batshit crazy.”
….
But it’s not just business it’s personal. Like a nephew freed to dish on a domineering uncle after being cut out of the will, Scarborough lurched forward in his chair when I asked what specifically got under Trump’s paper-thin skin.
“Ratings, numbers,” he said with a laugh. “Saying that Bernie Sanders draws more people than him. Mocking him for only having 5,000 people at [a Washington D.C. rally over Memorial Day weekend] when he thought he was going to have 400,000.”
Part of Joe Scarborough dishing on Trump is because of the withering criticism that he has taken for being biased and too friendly with the Republican nominee. The other part of the equation is that the MSNBC host understands that Trump is destroying the Republican Party.
What is interesting is that Scarborough’s strategy for beating Trump is exactly what Hillary Clinton has already been doing. By repeating his quotes, and turning his own words into jokes, Clinton is getting under Trump’s skin by causing people to laugh at him. Clinton never has to mock Trump. She just repeats word for word what Trump says, and the jokes write themselves for the audience.
Trump went after Scarborough, and now Morning Joe is to use a Trump term, “spilling the beans.”
Republicans have nominated the one candidate who was custom made for Hillary Clinton to beat. Democrats are just starting to relentlessly call Trump out. By the time Clinton and the Democratic Party are finished, Donald Trump is going to be a faux-billionaire on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
