Bernie Sanders Drops The Moral Hammer On Trump For Inciting Violence At CNN Town Hall

At the CNN Democratic town hall in Ohio, Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped the hammer on Donald Trump and accused him of inciting violence at his campaign rallies.

Sanders said:

Let me say something about Mr. Trump. Some of you may have read just a few hours ago that Mr. Trump said that he is prepared to pay the legal costs of an individual who sucker punched someone at a recent event. He’s going to pay the legal fees of somebody who committed a terrible act of violence. What that means is that Donald Trump is literally inciting violence with his supporters. He is saying if you go out and beat somebody up, that’s okay. I’ll pay the legal fees. That is an outrage, and I would hope that Mr. Trump tones it down and tells his supporters that violence is not acceptable in the political process.

….

You heard this one individual who sucker punched somebody, and if he’s quoted correctly, what he said well, he might be a terrorist and next time I might have to kill him. I think that is roughly the quote. And this is the guy who Trump is going paying legal fees for? What this essentially saying is an incitement to violence. You go beating up somebody? It’s okay. We’ll pay the legal fees. That is unacceptable, and I think Sen. Rubio has a legitimate concern. Trump has got to get on the TV and tell his supporters that violence in the political process in America is not unacceptable, end of discussion.

Listen to Sarah Jones and Jason Easley talk about Republicans blaming Obama and Sanders for the Trump violence:

No Republican candidate has dared to call out the violence that Trump is instigating like Bernie Sanders did. Sen. Sanders is displaying more integrity than all of the remaining Republican presidential candidates combined. Sen. Sanders is leading the moral charge to stop the divisive Trump from tearing the United States apart.

While Donald Trump is playing to the worst elements in America’s collective character, Bernie Sanders is embodying what truly makes America great.
