Republicans In Free Fall As Ted Cruz Explodes And Dares Donald Trump To Sue Him

As Democrats march towards victory in November, Republicans hit a new low after Ted Cruz exploded during a press conference today and dared Donald Trump to sue him.

Video:

After Trump had threatened to sue Cruz to get him to stop broadcasting an ad that uses Trump’s previous statements against him, Cruz replied:

You know, I have to say to Mr. Trump — you have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life, even in the annals of frivolous lawsuits, this takes the cake. Donald, I would encourage you if you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it is defamation, file the lawsuit. It is a remarkable contention that an ad that plays video of Donald Trump speaking on national television is somehow defamation. The operative words in that ad come from Donald Trump’s own mouth.” Cruz also pointed out doing his press conference that he wanted Trump to sue him because a lawsuit would mean that Trump would have to admit his real positions in court.

The Republican presidential primary is turning into what is the worst legal drama in the history of television. The candidates have abandoned all of the issues on the Republican side for slash and burn political attacks.

For example, here is the ad that has Trump threatening to sue Cruz is the typical negative attack ad that uses a candidate’s own (edited) words against them.

Here is the ad:

Donald Trump has been threatening to sue Cruz non-stop during the Republican primary. Last week, Trump threatened to file a birther lawsuit against Ted Cruz unless he stopped, “cheating and doing negative ads.” Donald Trump is so thin skinned that he thinks negative advertising is grounds for litigation.

The race for the Republican nomination has become a total bloodbath where there will be no winners. Everyone will lose, and the survivor of this political death march will have to face a well rested and unscathed Democratic nominee.
