Obama Drops Some Serious Smack Talk On Presidential Pretender Trump Before The SOTU

Last updated on July 17th, 2023 at 06:42 pm

During an interview on NBC’s Today, President Obama talked a little smack and showed the difference between a pretender like Donald Trump and the real President Of The United States.

Video:

Matt Lauer asked Obama if he feels responsible for the hunger that the message that Trump is putting out. The President answered, “The message that Donald Trump’s putting out has had adherence a lot of times during the course of our history. You know, talk to me if he wins. Then we’ll have a conversation about how responsible I feel about it. But I’m pretty confident that the overwhelming majority of Americans are looking for the kind of politics that does feed our hopes and not our fears, that does work together and doesn’t try to divide us, that isn’t looking for simplistic solutions and scapegoating, but looks for us buckling down and figuring out how to make things work for the next generation.”

Obama was asked if he could envision Trump delivering a State Of The Union. He answered, “Well, I can imagine it in a Saturday Night skit. Look. Anything’s possible, and I think we shouldn’t be complacent. I think everybody’s gotta work hard.”

Barack Obama is one of three people who are still walking around on this planet who has been twice elected President Of The United States. Donald Trump has won nothing yet. Obama was correct. Rhetoric like Trump’s has had an appeal to a segment of the electorate for generations, but it probably will fail again in 2016.

There have been many Donald Trump candidates who appeal to division, racism, and bigotry. Trump is nothing new, and if history is any sort of guide, voters will reject Donald Trump if he wins the Republican nomination.

Obama has every right to pull out the POTUS version of pointing to the scoreboard. President Obama is the real deal. Donald Trump may have some Republican voters fooled, but Obama is something that Trump will never be.

Barack Obama is the President Of The United States of America.
