White nationalists love themselves some Donald Trump, their last best hope to prevent the sin of multiculturalism, which they see as genocide for the “white race.”
The so-called American Freedom Party, founded in 2010 as “A Nationalist party that shares the customs and heritage of the European American people,” has it has been announced, have officially endorsed Trump:
They have announced in a press release what we all already know, that “[White] Nationalists look to Donald Trump as ‘The Great White Hope’ for their cause”:
Des Moines Radio Group is airing on KPSZ-AM from January 12 – January 22, 2016, pro-Trump radio shows to give the Iowa voters Christian and Nationalist reasons to support Donald Trump. The radio show “For God and Country” is hosted by Filipino American minister Ronald Tan and co-hosted by William Daniel Johnson, chairman of the White Nationalist political party the American Freedom Party, formerly known as the American Third Position.
These calls are apparently disturbing, according to Abby D. Phillip of The Washington Post:
Want to know how disturbing? The following is the text of the robocalls:
“The American National Super PAC makes this call to support Donald Trump.
‘My name is Reverend Ronald Tan, host of the Christian radio talk show program For God and Country. First Corinthians states: God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise and God chose the weak things of this world to shame the strong. For the Iowa caucuses, please support Donald Trump. He is courageous and he speaks his mind. God Bless.’
‘I’m Jared Taylor with American Renaissance. I urge you to vote for Donald Trump because he is the one candidate who points out that we should accept immigrants who are good for America. We don’t need Muslims. We need smart, well-educated white people who will assimilate to our culture. Vote Trump.’
‘I am William Johnson, a farmer and a white nationalist. Support Donald Trump. I paid for this through the super PAC. [Telephone] (213) 718-3908. This call is not authorized by Donald Trump.'”
There is nothing ambiguous about these calls. Trump has all but invited these endorsements through his rhetoric. And People for the American Way’s Michael B. Keegan called on Trump to condemn these ads made on his behalf:
“This is an ugly ad, and it comes from an ugly stance being taken by Donald Trump. Trump should condemn this ad—and he should renounce his racist policy position to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. No one aspiring to the nation’s top office should accept bigotry as any part of his or her campaign or promote it as part of his or her platform. Trump and many of his fellow Republican contenders’ willingness to embrace anti-Muslim rhetoric goes against American values.”
According to the American Freedom Party, “When asked why he has agreed to work with white nationalists to support Donald Trump, Reverend Ronald Tan replied”:
“America has lost its direction. Donald Trump is called ‘The Great White Hope’ for racially conscious whites, but he is also called of God to make America great again. Donald Trump says what he believes. He may be weak and foolish in the eyes of man, but he is qualified to be an instrument in God’s hands.”
“Racially conscious whites” see Trump as “an instrument in God’s hands.” Now if that’s not a frightening image, I don’t know what is.
