The Hillary Clinton email scandal is quickly rolling down the path of other empty Republican scandals as it is being reported that her private email server was not wiped.
The company that managed Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private e-mail server said it has “no knowledge of the server being wiped,” the strongest indication to date that tens of thousands of e-mails that Clinton has said were deleted could be recovered.
Clinton and her advisers have said for months that she deleted her personal correspondence from her time as secretary of state, creating the impression that 31,000 e-mails were gone forever.

“Platte River has no knowledge of the server being wiped,” company spokesman Andy Boian told The Washington Post. “All the information we have is that the server wasn’t wiped.”
Republicans have been claiming for months that Clinton wiped the email server. In March, the chairman of the House’s Benghazi investigation, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-OK) said, “We learned today, from her attorney, Secretary Clinton unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and permanently delete all emails from her personal server. While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department.”
Republicans have been pushing the “wiped server” as evidence of wrongdoing, as they keep hinting that Clinton committed a crime.
It turns out that the wiped server can now join the list of Republican myths that includes the targeting on only conservatives by the IRS, Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate, and the Benghazi stand down order.
Anyone who pays attention to how the House Republican majority operates has seen this behavior before. Republicans take a conspiracy theory and hammer it into the ground via repetition. The fact adverse elements of the mainstream press run with the empty Republican claims. Congressional investigations are launched. The facts do eventually come out, and the scandal vanishes into the black hole that is conservative media.
Clinton said that she didn’t break any laws. The departments of State and Justice confirmed that no laws were broken. Clinton said that she didn’t wipe her email server. It is confirmed that she didn’t.
It turns out that Hillary Clinton has been telling the truth about her emails. So far, the Republican claims against her have turned out to be false.
Without facts, the Republican Clinton email scandal is destined to vanish into right-wing oblivion just like all of the others. As long as the press continues to refuse to fact-check Republicans, these “scandals” will flare up until they are extinguished by reality.
