Trump said, “I can totally make that pledge if I am the nominee, I will pledge that I will not run as an Independent, and I am discussing it with everybody. We’re talking about a lot of leverage. We want to win, and we will win. But I want to win as a Republican. I want to run as the Republican nominee.”
Rand Paul jumped in and accused Trump of buying and selling politicians.
Trump got booed when he said that he will not make the pledge at this time.
With one question, Donald Trump hijacked the Republican debate. Trump has made his extortion threat clear. Either the Republican Party hands him the Republican nomination, or he will run third party and cost them the election.
The early stages of the debate have been the Donald Trump show. Trump is sucking all of the oxygen out of the room and dominating the stage. The Republican audience has a strange relationship with Trump. One second they are cheering him, and the next moment they are booing him.
