Massive Crowd of 7,000-8,000 Show Up For Bernie Sanders Q&A In Portland, Maine

A scheduled Q&A quickly turned into a political rally as 7,000-8,000+ show up for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders’ event in Portland, Maine.

Here is a shot of the crowd:

Mario Moretto of the Bangor Daily News reported that the crowd was estimated to be 7,000 with more people coming in:

Moretto also reported that the crowd is so large that closed off areas of the arena had to be opened:

The start of the rally was delayed because so many people were trying to get in. The New York Times reported today that advisors to Hillary Clinton are worried that Sen. Sanders is going to overtake her in Iowa polls by the fall.

Judging by the size of the crowds that Sanders is attracting, they are right to be concerned. Bernie Sanders has tapped into a mood in this country of enough is enough. People are fed up, and the message that Sen. Sanders is offering is very appealing to many U.S. voters who see the country moving left.

Bernie Sanders is the most popular candidate on the campaign trail in either party. If a Republican were drawing this level of support, the mainstream press would be tripping all over themselves to anoint that candidate the next president.

Since the candidate who is attracting the support is a Democrat, most of the press ignores him. The crowds are getting too big for even the corporate owned Beltway chattering class to ignore the growing political force that is the Bernie Sanders campaign for president.
