Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire This Weekend, to Midwest Next Week

Independent Bernie Sanders, whom Politico reports is polling well in New Hampshire, is in the midst of a “two-day Swing” through the Granite State today and tomorrow.

A stop has been added to his schedule at 4 p.m. today and his schedule is now as follows:

Saturday, June 27
10:30 a.m. Nashua Town Meeting, Nashua Community College, 505 Amherst Street, Nashua
2 p.m. Bow House Party, Home of Ron and Meredith Abramson, 2 Hop Kiln Road, Bow
4 p.m. Hillsborough County Democratic Party picnic, Fireman’s Field on Contoocook Falls Rd., Hillsborough
6 p.m. Henniker Town Meeting, Simon Center, New England College, 98 Bridge Street, Henniker

Sunday, June 28
10:30 a.m. Rochester Town Meeting, Governor’s Inn, 78 Wakefield Street, Rochester
1:30 p.m. Durham Town Meeting, Oyster River High School, 55 Coe Drive, Durham
4 p.m. Laconia Town Meeting, Lake Opechee Inn, 62 Doris Ray Court, Laconia

A a Suffolk University poll last week showed Sanders at 31 percent compared to Hillary Clinton’s 41 percent, while a a CNN/WMUR poll Thursday shows Clinton with just an 8 point lead.

With his numbers climbing, Sanders’ popularity in New Hampshire may be less an issue right now than his party status, as running as a Democrat may be problematic.

On July 1, Sanders will appear in Madison, Wisconsin, at Veterans Memorial Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center, and he will move on to Rochester, Minnesota, the next day at the Rochester International Event, before moving on to Iowa, which has swung Democrat in three of the last four elections.
