Obama Promises to Veto House Republicans’ 44th Attempt to Kill Obamacare

House Republicans refuse to believe it, but President Obama is promising to veto the CR that the House will amend and pass tonight that delays Obamcare

The full statement:

The Administration strongly opposes the House amendments to Senate-passed H.J. Res. 59, making continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2014, and for other purposes. The Senate acted in a responsible manner on a short-term funding measure to maintain Government functions and avoid a damaging Government shutdown. Rather than taking up that legislation, the House proposes amendments that advance a narrow ideological agenda and threaten the Nation’s economy. By including extraneous measures that have no place in a government funding bill and that the President and Senate already made clear are unacceptable, House Republicans are pushing the Government toward shutdown.

If the President was presented with H.J. Res 59, as amended by these amendments, he would veto the bill.

The House of Representatives should pass the Senate-passed H.J. Res 59. The Senate continuing resolution provides a short-term bridge to allow critical Government functions to operate without interruption. The Administration looks forward to working with the Congress on appropriations legislation for the remainder of the fiscal year that replaces sequestration and preserves funding for critical national priorities, protects national security, and makes investments to spur economic growth and job creation for years to come.

Denial and delusion is running rampant with House Republicans. On the House floor, these Republicans are acting like the Senate will pass and Obama will sign their CR that delays the ACA for one year.

The reality is that neither of these things is going to happen. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is promising that the Senate will not take up anything that the House passes tonight . House Democrats are warning their Republican colleagues that a vote for this CR is a vote to shutdown the government, but as usual the drunk on tea House GOP is living in their own disturbed alternate reality.

President Obama is never, ever going to sign anything that delays or defunds the ACA. House Republicans are losing both political battle and the war tonight, but they are so caught up in their own folly that they can’t see their own demise as it happens.
