Even though Trump “University”/School/Entrepreneurial Scam has faced consistent complaints and been the target of the government before for using “University” in its title, this reality didn’t stop Donald Trump from going on Fox “News” to hoist himself up on the conservative cross of persecution and claim that President Barack Obama himself is targeting the Birther. Yes, it’s the old that black man is out to get me defense that always goes over so well with some segments.
Then Trump took it to the place that all conservatives go. Since he fantasizes that he’s so important that he’s being targeted like Jesus was, it’s time for retaliation. No, there’s no need for proof or to let the law sort it out, he wants to set the Tea Party on Obama. “Maybe we have to get the Tea Party to go after these people because this could very well be a mini-IRS!”
Naturally the hosts of Fox and Friends agreed with Donald, because there’s no Obama conspiracy theory too absurd for Fox News to sell.
Watch an August 26 clip of Fox and Friends here via Media Matters:
Trump claimed that Obama was using the lawsuit to target him, because AG Schneiderman and the President met two days before the suit was filed. (It’s just like Glenn Beck’s chalkboard! Magical proof by association.) He told the agreeable panel, “Maybe this is a mini IRS.”
Yes, that’s right. The lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman alleging that Donald’s for profit “Trump University” engaged in illegal business practices is just another way that Nixon – er, Obama – is targeting conservatives. It’s a “mini IRS”.
Of course the Fox and Friends hosts agreed with Trump, because the President hasn’t “liked” Trump for a while — no mention that Trump has been spreading vicious lies about the President for years now, and refused to back down even when busted. No mention of the fact that Donald Trump is an ignorant birther and a scam artist of the highest measure, whose multiple bankruptcies only prove that he knows how to prey on the weak and use our system to his financial advantage and we reward him for these traits by putting him on “reality” TV, where predatory narcissists excel. This is what Trump claimed in the interview is his “success”.
Trump admitted that the AG told him about his feelings about Obama that, “By the way, aren’t good.” So, the AG doesn’t like Obama, but he’s doing Obama’s biding by targeting Trump?
And then Trump proceeds to blame the President for this lawsuit. “They (Obama and the AG) meet on Thursday evening, I get sued on Saturday!” Yes, it all makes sense now.
Trump then declared that maybe they need to get the Tea Party to go after ‘these people’ (i.e., President Obama and the Attorney General). “Maybe we have to get the Tea Party to go after these people because this could very well be a mini-IRS!”
It must be that the President doesn’t “like” the Donald, and not that Trump is guilty of something unethical and predatory. The New York Times explained:
The lawsuit, which seeks restitution of at least $40 million, accused Mr. Trump, the Trump Organization and others involved with the school of running it as an unlicensed educational institution from 2005 to 2011 and making false claims about its classes in what was described as “an elaborate bait-and-switch.”
In a statement, Eric T. Schneiderman, the attorney general, said Mr. Trump appeared in advertisements for the school making “false promises” to persuade more than 5,000 people around the country — including 600 New Yorkers — “to spend tens of thousands of dollars they couldn’t afford for lessons they never got.”
How the President got all of these people in New York, Texas, Florida and Illinois to complain about Trump’s scam is a matter for Darrell Issa to suss out – for no one can put a conspiracy together for the cameras like the Obama scandal manufacturer and criminal mastermind Republican Darrell Issa.
All Issa needs are a few “witnesses” from within the Attorney General’s office to come forward and say that conservatives were targeted. He can take those statements along with Trump’s claim of being persecuted for his political affiliation and bring it to the media. The media won’t run those witnesses through the Googles and so they’ll miss that the “witnesses” were already found guilty of illegally assisting the Republican party before.
Issa will find a way to inaccurately pin the entire thing on the President, in this case because he was seen talking to the Attorney General once. Then photogenic Republicans will make the pr rounds declaring the President to be Nixon, using the government to get retribution on political enemies.
Naturally the President and the AG can’t fight back until the evidence is procured and gone over, which means that the narrative will be set in the media and thus in the public’s mind long before the facts ever see the light of day.
Now that the narrative is set, all Issa will need to do is to hold a big theatrical hearing, where only the witnesses he deems appropriate will go in front of the TV cameras and all evidence will be processed (redacted as necessary) by the Republican Party prior to being admitted as “evidence”.
Voila, the President is Nixon! After all, we saw him talking to this person days before this lawsuit was filed, and we all know that talking to someone is grounds for impeachment – especially when lawsuits of this magnitude take only hours to toss together. We have all of these witnesses — oh my scandalous god — and even the Washington Post is on board — Impeachment complete!
It really is a “Mini IRS” scandal — it’s a big, fat, lie being used to cover up the predatory behavior of sociopaths.
