Wearing a cowboy hat, your former Vice President Dick Cheney warned Republicans that we are in deep ‘doo-doo’ on North Korea. Yes, that is a quote. He dug out some of his hard line Bush Doctrine doo-doo, accusing North Korean leader of not sharing the United States worldview.
CNN reported:
“We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to a GOP leadership aide.
Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn’t share the United States worldview.
Rep. Steve Southerland (R-FLA) told CNN, “Cheney talked about the North Korean leader, Southerland said, and shared some of his history dealing with Saddam Hussein, noting ‘you never know what they’re thinking.'”
In 2008, it’s alleged that Cheney ‘tried to block North Korea nuclear deal’ by trying to keep Condeleeza Rice from forging a compromise deal with North Korea over their nuclear program:
“Usually the word ‘meltdown’ applies to a nuclear reactor. In this case it applies to Bush administration diplomacy which once aimed to halt the North Korean programme and has now become an abject failure,” Richard Perle, chairman of the Pentagon defence policy board in the run-up to the 2003 Iraq invasion, told the Telegraph.
Wondering how we got into that mess in Iraq?
Let’s sum it up: Kim Jong Un is the same as Saddam Hussein, and you never know what “they” are thinking. Neither of them share the United States’ worldview (why is this surprising? Oh, the worldview of a Republican: Everyone must think/believe like I do, or that alone proves they are evil). Also, in case you were wondering, this is a big doo-doo.
And we wonder why Republicans are dragging this country down.
Yes, things are precarious with North Korea. But Cheney’s Bush Doctrine doo-doo isn’t helping. This is the man who took us into Iraq. He’s not in great health, but this foray down memory lane is an unwelcome reminder of eight years of cowboy hat doo-doo.
Listening to him now, I’m surprised and grateful that he didn’t do more than start a 10 year war on a lie, destroy the economy, ruin our image internationally, out a CIA agent, destroy the DoJ, NEPDG/Enron scandal, refuse to allow inspection of his records or file documents with the National Archives and Records Administration, create an unaccountable “4th” branch of government that made its own laws, guard ‘free speech’ zones with Blackwater thugs, insist on absolute fealty even from country singers… Wait. He pretty much covered it all.
DOO DOO.
