House Republican Steven Stockman is helping to rebrand his party by announcing today that admitted pedophile, and generally insane person, Ted Nugent will be his guest at the State of the Union.
In a press release, Rep. Stockman said, “I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama. After the Address I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”
In a 1998 episode of VH1’s Behind The Music, Nugent, “lambastes drug users and alcohol drinkers, but repeatedly admits (without a trace of humility, however) to being a serial pedophile. Two relationships (one with his wife and one with “muse” Pele Massa, who was 17 when they started dating) were ended due to Ted’s infidelity while on the road, often with underage women. But Ted justifies his behavior with one of his trademark funny expressions: ‘alternative flesh management.'”
Here is the video:
The Stockman press releases also pointed out that Nugent will be available for interviews after the president’s speech, because what better way is there for Republicans to reconnect with American people than to put Ted Nugent out in front of live cameras and microphones on the biggest political night of the year?
Just like Clint Eastwood’s empty chair stole all of the headlines from Mitt Romney at the Republican convention, it isn’t out of the realm of possibly that Nugent will steal the spotlight away from the GOP’s latest chosen one, Marco Rubio. Clueless House Republicans appear to have no idea that they are literally destroying their own party with stunts like this. They can talk about Hispanics all they want, but beneath the new rhetoric is the same political party that wears their association with people like Ted Nugent as a badge of honor.
Mitt Romney embraced pedo-bear Ted during the 2012 election, but it didn’t help him with voters. If the Republican Party really wants America to consider supporting it ever again, they really ought to stop hanging around with creepy pedophiles like Ted Nugent.
