Why Scott Walker Must Go: the Endless Parade of Lies

Last updated on February 8th, 2013 at 02:23 am

Scott Walker’s endless parade of lies is just one of many reasons that the Wisconsin governor has got to go.

Here is a video recap of 15 of Walker’s lies via Uppidy Wisconsin:

The Nation’s John Nichols focused on the questioning surrounding the political intentions behind Scott Walker’s union busting,

Under questioning from other members of the committee (especially Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley), however, Walker admitted that many of the moves he initiated had no real impact on the state budget.

They did have the impact of weakening unions in the workplace and in the politics of the state, however.

It was in that context that Congressman Gerry Connolly, D-Virginia, pressed Walker on the matter of political intentions.

“Have you ever had a conversation with respect to your actions in Wisconsin and using them to punish members of the opposition party and their [union] donor base?

“No,” replied Walker.

“Never had such a conversation?” Connolly pressed.

“No,” said Walker.

The videotape from several months earlier, in which Walker speaks at length with his most generous campaign donor, suggests a very different answer to the questions from Murphy and Connolly. Indeed, the videotape shows Walker having just such a conversation.

Scott Walker isn’t just a liar. He is also a bad governor. His agenda in Wisconsin is proof that trickle down economics combined with right wing anti-union/public sector fanaticism does not work. The fact that his state is losing jobs while the rest of the nation is in economic recovery screams that there is something very wrong with the way that Gov. Walker is running the state.

He is carrying out his agenda in defiance of the wishes of a majority of the residents that he was elected to serve. Scott Walker also manufactured a budget crisis, which ironically enough is about to become a reality thanks to his policies, as a pretext for his union busting.

Scott Walker may survive the recall election, but his history of illegal activity is bound to catch up with him soon. The John Doe investigation is breathing down his neck, so even if Walker dodges the recall bullet, he may not escape the firing squad.

Whether by ballot box or handcuffs, Scott Walker must go.
