Rush Limbaugh Claims Both al-Qaeda and Democrats Target Blacks

Last updated on August 10th, 2014 at 05:00 pm

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh made the claim that the Democratic Party is racist just like al Qaeda because they both target Africans and African Americans. Limbaugh said the Democrat Party targets Africans and African Americans to be the victims of their social policy. They don’t do it for suicide bombers of course. Democrats do this to get votes.”

Here is the audio courtesy of Media Matters:

Limbaugh said, “Folks it has now been a year and a half finally the President of the United States of America has had something critical to say about al-Qaeda, and what is it? They’re a bunch of racist terrorists for blowing up a bomb in Uganda. They’re not racists for blowing up the World Trade Center, but they are racists for, here’s what Obama said, ‘What you’ve seen in some of the statements that have been made by these terrorist organizations is that they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself. They see it as a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles that kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains.'”

He then misattributed a White House official’s quote in an ABC News story to Obama, “Additionally, U.S. intelligence has indicated that al Qaeda leadership specifically targets and recruits black Africans to become suicide bombers because they believe that poor economic and social conditions make them more susceptible to recruitment than Arabs.” (Here is what Limbaugh left off of the ABC News quote, “social conditions make them more susceptible to recruitment than Arabs the official said. Al Qaeda recruits have said that al Qaeda is racist against black members from West Africa because they are only used in lower level operations.”)

Limbaugh then said that Democrats do the same thing as al-Qaeda, “Don’t Democrats do the same thing minus the suicide bombing? The Democrat Party targets black Africans and Americans to be the victims of their social policy. They don’t do it for suicide bombers of course. Democrats do this to get votes. I think it’s fascinating.” The fact that al Qaeda is a racist organization can’t be disputed, shortly after Obama’s election Ayman al-Zawahiri called the then president elect, “A house negro.”

The claim that Obama has not discussed al-Qaeda is laughable. The president has spoken about al-Qeada four times in the last 6 months, including the 2010 State of the Union and his weekly radio address on January 2 when he said, “Meanwhile, the investigation into the Christmas Day incident continues, and we’re learning more about the suspect. We know that he traveled to Yemen, a country grappling with crushing poverty and deadly insurgencies. It appears that he joined an affiliate of al Qaeda, and that this group-al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula-trained him, equipped him with those explosives and directed him to attack that plane headed for America.”

The Democratic Party does not target African Americans. Many African Americans choose to support the Democratic Party, because just like any other American of any color, they support the party that they feel speaks most for them and to the issues that they care most about. The only targeting going on here is being done by people like Rush Limbaugh and the Republican Party. They are the people who are trying to divide the country by using race based politics.

It is fascinating that this comparison would come from Limbaugh who has discussed on the air Barack and Michelle Obama’s, and slave blood , and played the song Barack The Magic Negro on the air. These tactics are a lot like those being employed by al Qaeda towards Obama, which makes it clear that the real racist with terrorist sympathies isn’t the Democratic Party, but Rush Limbaugh.
