Rush forgets that Republicans work for Uncle Sam too.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh labeled all union government employees whether they are Democrats or Republicans freeloaders, leftists, and socialists. Limbaugh said, “This is incredible, unheard of a bunch of leftist, socialists, neo- communist union people asking their brothers in government to raise taxes,” but Rush, what about all of the Republicans that are employed by the public sector?

Limbaugh was ranting against the recent protests for higher taxes in Illinois when he said, “They’re freeloaders…They live off taxes….These are people that live off of your tax payments and they want more. They want you to have to pay more taxes so that they continue in their freeloader gigs.” Rush claimed that the public sector is worthless, “Public employee union people, they are the freeloaders. They are a net loss. They don’t produce anything. They live solely off the output of the private sector, which they hate by the way.”
He later said, “This is incredible, unheard of a bunch of leftist, socialists, neo- communist union people asking their brothers in government to raise taxes, when they do it anyway.” All of those policemen and firefighters around the country who happen to work for the government and to keep the citizens of their communities safe won’t be very happy to know that Rush Limbaugh considers them to be producing nothing. To make it even worse, there are a lot of Republicans especially in law enforcement, so guys and gals, I hate to have to break this to you, but Rush Limbaugh thinks that you are a bunch of leftists and socialists.
Limbaugh assumed that all government employees are Democrats, but this is completely untrue. Just as his contention that the public sector produces nothing is completely bogus too. Try to run any state, city, or town without government employees and watch what happens. People like Limbaugh want the streets to be clean and safe, the roads to be repaired, and clean water to come out of the tap when they turn it on, but these are just a few of the tasks that public sector employees perform, and yes a fair number of these employees are conservatives.
Limbaugh’s little rant demonstrates just how out of touch he is with reality. The real world does not function nearly the same way as Rush’s personal barrier from reality. Limbaugh is living proof that a person can get so wealthy and deluded by their own self importance that they lose all touch with the rest of humanity. Limbaugh probably insulted a few of his listeners who happened to be sitting at their government desks listening to his show, that is if they were smart enough to realize that they were being insulted.
