Limbaugh Blames Obama for His Failed NFL Ownership Bid

Last updated on August 10th, 2014 at 05:07 pm

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh descended into conspiracy theories as he blamed the Obama people for his rejected bid to become a minority owner of the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh said, “Obama, the Obama people have got their hooks in the NFL. I am assuming that when Limbaugh gets a cold, he blames Obama for that too.

Here is the audio courtesy of Media Matters:

Limbaugh unveiled his Obama/NFL conspiracy theory, “Make no mistake the NFL is as politicized as anything else is in this country, and for lack of a better word when DeMaurice Smith, Al Sharpton and Rev. Jackson can pressure the commissioner into saying who can and can not even apply and go through the vetting process, then they got their own slippery slope, and they’re admitting that politics is here and DeMaurice Smith is an Obamaite, the transition team, a big donor, close buddy of Eric Holder, so, Obama the Obama people have got their hooks in the NFL now. It’s just what it is, folks.”

So according to Rush, it was Barack Obama and his people who got to the NFL and caused the potential ownership group that he was going to be a part of to drop him. This has nothing to do with Limbaugh’s history of race based political remarks, or the fact that he had not been able to keep his mouth closed about the ownership bid on his radio show.

This is a case of reaping what you sow, because it is Limbaugh himself who sunk his ownership bid, not Barack Obama, and definitely not Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. However, in the world of Limbaugh there can only been one possible answer when something doesn’t go Rush’s way.

It is the Democrats fault. If Limbaugh gets pulled over for speeding, blame Obama. If a cashier gives him incorrect change, blame Obama. If the supermarket is out of his favorite ice cream, that’s probably Obama’s fault too. Rush Limbaugh spends an awful lot of time talking about personal responsibility, but rarely does he exercise it.
