Rick Sanchez Rips Fox News for Coaching 9/12 Protesters

Last updated on August 10th, 2014 at 05:07 pm

CNN’s Rick Sanchez has really sunk his teeth into Fox News’ role in the 9/12 protest in Washington, DC. Sanchez took FNC to task for a producer that encouraged the crowd to cheer during one of their live reports. Sanchez said, “Real news organizations are not supposed to stage events. Nor should they promote news events. Nor should they hype news events.”

Here is the video courtesy of Media Matters:

Sanchez said, “Real news organizations, real news organizations are not supposed to stage events. Nor should they promote news events, nor should they hype news events. Otherwise, they lose their ability to be impartial. They’re no longer even remotely objective if they do that, nor are they being fair and balanced. Case in point again, Fox News…”

After showing the video of an FNC producer coaching the crowd, Sanchez said, “Fox News says the person in question will disciplined, as for my request that that apologize for lying about CNN not covering the story, still no apology. Though a Fox executive did say I was a sucker, not quite sure exactly what that means, but I’m still waiting for that apology.”

Sanchez will be waiting for the rest of his life for that apology, because it isn’t coming. I am not sure why Rick Sanchez is a sucker either. Unless it is that Fox News considers people who actually try to practice journalism on television to be fools. The truth is that the more activist FNC becomes, the less credibility they have as a news organization.

The reality is that Fox News isn’t a news organization anymore. They are the anti-Obama entertainment network, and they make a ton of profit by appealing to audience that shares the same conservative political leanings. FNC and MSNBC make a lot of profit off of partisanship, while CNN still continues to struggle. The moral of the story is that Sanchez is right, but the profits are in partisanship, not journalism.
