Trump Is Getting Crushed By Every Democrat In The One Blue State He’s Trying To Flip

Trump is trying to flip Minnesota. He even held a rally in Minneapolis, but a new poll shows him getting crushed by the three top Democrats in 2020.

The new Star Tribune poll of the state found:

The Trump campaign has already given up on Michigan, and they have few options for replacing the Electoral College votes they are going to lose there. Trump has been targeting Minnesota, but it may not be as ripe for a flip as the president was hoping.

Amy Klobuchar, who is the home state senator running for the Democratic nomination, dominating Trump is no surprise. She is a long-shot candidate to be at the top of the ticket, but if the nominee decides that they would like a Midwestern presence on the ticket, and someone who could keep the state blue, the Star-Tribune poll serves as a boost to Klobuchar’s potential as a running mate in 2020.

Men are the backbone of Trump’s electoral support, so it is important to look at how each of the top Democrats matches up with Trump with men in key states. Joe Biden leads Trump among men in Minnesota 46%-41%. Warren leads Trump 47%-43%, with men, which is just outside the poll’s margin of error of 3.5%. Sanders leads Trump with men 45%-43%, which is inside the poll’s margin of error, meaning that it is a statistical tie.

The Minnesota poll shows how small Trump’s margin for error is in 2020. Trump isn’t likely to flip any existing blue states, so if Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin revert back to their usual blue staus in presidential elections, Donald Trump will be a one-term president.
