Trump Blames Obama After Judge Rules He Must Release His Financial Documents

Donald Trump blamed former president Barack Obama for a judge’s ruling on Monday that his accounting firm must turn over his financial documents to Congress.

As PoliticusUSA noted via Reuters, “A U.S. judge on Monday ruled in favor of a U.S. House of Representatives committee seeking President Trump’s financial records from his accounting firm, dealing an early setback to the Trump administration in its legal battle with Congress.”

U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta, who issued the ruling on Monday, also “denied a request by Trump to stay his decision pending an appeal.”

In response, Trump lashed out like a grade school child who just had a toy taken from him for misbehaving, calling the judge’s decision “crazy” and suggesting that it was only made because Mehta is “an Obama-appointed judge.”

“This never happened to any other president,” the president said, missing the fact that no president in history has ever had such a corrupt and conflict-infested financial history.

“They’re trying to get a redo,” Trump said of the Democrats, adding that he “will appeal it.”

Trump returns to his favorite strategy: attacking Barack Obama

Instead of acknowledging that the U.S. presidency is not a dictatorship that allows him to trample over the rule of law in order to protect himself, Trump is returning to one of his favorite strategies: attacking Barack Obama.

Most Americans see through this, of course, but he knows that his base will eat it right up and buy into the false reality that any legal setback for his presidency is some deep-state conspiracy spearheaded by his predecessor.

As the courts continue to rule against Trump’s blatant obstruction and more information comes out about his sketchy financial history, it’s a well the president will likely continue going down.

Donald Trump is desperate, and there is no ridiculous lie he isn’t afraid to tell as the walls close in on his presidency.
