Bill O’Reilly Is Trying To Revive His Disgraced Career With New Book Sucking Up To Trump

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who left the right-wing propaganda network in disgrace two years ago, appears to be trying to revive his career by publishing a new book sucking up to Donald Trump.

According to The Hill, O’Reilly’s book will be called – wait for it – “The United States of Trump: How the President Really Sees America.”

The former Fox host said the book will “have no anonymous sources and no spin,” which is the first hint that it will be a steaming pile of right-wing spin.

“‘The United States of Trump‘ is essentially a history book about one of the most important political stories of all time,” O’Reilly said in an announcement, according to The Hill.

“How exactly did Donald Trump win the presidency and how has his view of America changed since he was elected?” O’Reilly continued.

Hint: Trump‘s view of America hasn’t changed a single iota. He still views the country and the presidency as a way to enrich himself, no matter how much damage it does.

Bill O’Reilly shouldn’t be taken seriously

To be sure, there is an audience out there for O’Reilly’s book, just like there is an audience out there that keeps Fox News on the air.

But that doesn’t mean the majority of the country that lives in the reality-based world should take it seriously, just like they shouldn’t take Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Jeanine Pirro and other Fox News extremists seriously.

If the former Fox News host truly plans to publish a book that accurately depicts recent U.S. history, then he will acknowledge how Trump‘s campaign was – criminally and perhaps knowingly – helped by the Russians to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016.

He will also acknowledge his own role – and the role of his network – in providing wall-to-wall, breathless coverage for Trump, a man who has always been demonstrably unfit to hold the office of the presidency.

Of course, Bill O’Reilly’s intention isn’t to objectively explore Trump‘s role in politics and how he ascended from gameshow host to reality TV president.

Instead, it’s a desperate attempt by a disgraced former Fox News host to become relevant again by sucking up to a self-absorbed president of the United States.

If only Trump knew how to crack open a book.
