Trump Rages At NY Times for Report on FBI Probe Into His Russia Ties

President Donald Trump began the weekend by going on Twitter and attacking the New York Times for publishing a bombshell report yesterday which implied that he might be working as a Russian asset . The Times report revealed a secret FBI investigation into Trump’s many close ties to Russia that began shortly after he fired former FBI Director James Comey.

On Twitter, the president wrote:

“Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, almost all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin’ James Comey, a total sleaze!”

“Funny thing about James Comey. Everybody wanted him fired, Republican and Democrat alike. After the rigged & botched Crooked Hillary investigation, where she was interviewed on July 4th Weekend, not recorded or sworn in, and where she said she didn’t know anything (a lie),….”

Yesterday The New York Times reported:

“In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.”

“The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.”

After this report came out, Jason Easley, publisher of PoliticusUSA wrote:

If an investigation concludes that Trump is working for the Russians, he must be impeached and removed from office. Federal law enforcement is concerned that Donald Trump is a threat to national security.”

“Mueller is the least of Trump’s problems as questions about the president’s relationship with Russia have knocked the wall and the shutdown off of the front page.”

Donald Trump’ raging tweets today continue his attacks on American law enforcement agencies, especially the FBI. He is doing everything he can to undermine their credibility. He may think this is helping him, but the fact is that the more he attacks the FBI, the more it looks like he is working for Russia, and taking orders directly from Vladimir Putin.
