Trump twisted and turned and lied about a quote from Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), so the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee investigating Russia unloaded on the president.
Schiff tweeted:
Some time ago, Republicans on our committee released a declassified memo that omitted and distorted key facts in order to mislead the public and impugn the integrity of the FBI.
We can now tell you what they left out: https://t.co/jeVCVTBUBZ

Which Trump twisted to mean:
“Congressman Schiff omitted and distorted key facts” @FoxNews So, what else is new. He is a total phony!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 25, 2018
Rep. Schiff then wiped the floor with Trump:
Wrong again, Mr. President. It confirms the FBI acted appropriately and that Russian agents approached two of your advisors, and informed your campaign that Russia was prepared to help you by disseminating stolen Clinton emails. https://t.co/G128SNicdn

Wait a minute, Mr. President. Am I a phony, or sleazy, a monster or little? Surely you know the key to a good playground nickname is consistency. I thought you were supposed to be good at this. https://t.co/v44q2CTFxX

Adam Schiff isn’t playing Trump’s games
The problem that Schiff presents for Trump is that he is a no-nonsense former prosecutor who is only interested in the truth. Trump is in the big leagues now. This isn’t Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in the Republican primary. This is the man who in less than a year could be leading the House’s investigation into the Russia scandal. Trump thought that he heard Fox News say that Adam Schiff omitted and distorted key facts, but the short attention span president was once again wrong.
Trump gets his information from a television that he isn’t even paying attention to.
Democrats are on the rise, and the top House Intel Committee Democrat responded to Trump’s bluster with an even louder Democratic roar.
