CNN has turned the calls for action by Stoneman Douglas students on gun violence into a disgusting ratings grab by inviting the NRA to the town hall event.
CNN was happy to announce that the gun lobby was invited to a town hall feature student survivors of the school shooting in Parkland, FL:
The NRA has accepted CNN's invitation to participate in a nationally televised town hall tonight at 9 ET with students, parents and community members who were affected by last week's Florida school shooting https://t.co/eDoYDxArUD pic.twitter.com/FjkOU93y3E

The outrage was swift:
Why were @NRA lobbyists invited to a discussion between gun violence survivors and elected officials?
And not just any lobbyist: Dana Loesch bullies gun violence survivors; is the face of the NRA’s violent, racist ads; and makes a living spewing mistruths. https://t.co/mgSNZcgwbk

CNN has turned the gun violence town hall into a ratings grab
Forget having a serious discussion about gun violence and the need for action. With the NRA present, CNN is making it clear that they are trying to set up conflict and ratings.
Does anyone really believe for a second that the NRA needs to be represented at this event?
The NRA already controls Republicans in Congress and the President Of The United States. Their views are the reason why common sense legislation to combat gun violence can’t get through Congress. There was no reason to invite the NRA outside of CNN’s desperate effort to try to get conservatives to watch their network. CNN was already on thin ice after their paid contributor Jack Kingston attacked the Parkland survivors.
CNN is turning their gun violence town hall into a circus because they are more interested in ratings than promoting a serious discussion about gun violence.
