While meeting with tech CEOs, Trump again criticized the secret Republican health care bill, but the one thing that he hasn’t done is refuse to sign it if it passes through Congress.
CNBC reported, “The source said the president told the CEOs on Monday that the Senate’s health-care bill needs “more heart.” That would be a second known instance of the president criticizing the GOP bill in private meetings.”
There have now been multiple reports of the President criticizing his own party’s health care bill, but the one thing that he hasn’t done publicly or privately is threaten to veto it. Trump doesn’t want to take the heat for the unpopular legislation, but he is not going to do anything that would prevent him from getting the legislative “win” that he is openly lusting after.
Donald Trump may hate the Republican health care bill, but that isn’t going to stop him from signing it into law. Trump’s words are nothing more than empty bluster. The President’s actions are the true indicator of what he is going to do about healthcare.
Trump is going to grumble and moan privately about a piece of legislation that he doesn’t understand, and when it is all said and done, it will be Donald Trump’s signature on the piece of legislation that will take health care away from tens of millions of Americans.
