Trump Disingenuously Takes The Credit For Jobs That Were Created Under Obama

At a meeting with his economic advisory council on Friday, President Trump took credit for a January 2017 jobs report that he had nothing to do with as for nearly two-thirds of the month Obama was president.

Video:

Trump said, “A couple things happened this morning. 227,000 jobs. Great spirit in the country right now. So we’re very happy about that. I think it’s going to continue big league. We’re bringing back jobs. We’re bringing down your taxes. We’re getting rid of your regulations, and I think there’s going to be some really exciting times ahead.”

President Trump’s comments were laughable because he hasn’t done anything. Trump signed his Executive Order on regulations on January 30. Trump wasn’t even president until January 20, 2017. President Trump didn’t take a single step that would create jobs in the first week and a half that he was in office.

It is interesting that Trump considers chaos, nationwide protests, and 40% of the country wanting to impeach him, “great spirit.” There is definitely a spirit in the country, and it is one of rage towards Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

President Trump is living in his own universe of alternate facts. He really does believe that he created those jobs, but the country knows differently.

Trump is painting the picture of an America that he has rescued when the reality is that the US resembles a boiling pot that is about to explode.
