Trump wanted a star to be his running mate, but it is being reported that he will pick Indiana Governor Mike Pence to be his VP.
Roll Call is the latest outlet to report that the pick is Pence:
Donald Trump is planning to announce that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his choice for his vice presidential running mate, according to a Republican with direct knowledge of the decision.
As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week.
The Roll Call report matches one from The Washington Times over the weekend that suggested that Pence was a virtual lock to be the pick.
Mike Pence isn’t going to move the needle for Donald Trump. Trump needed a game changer, but instead, he may be getting Mike Pence. If the pick is Pence, the first question that America will ask is who the heck is Mike Pence?
The country will then return to playing Pokemon GO while continuing to wonder how the guy from The Apprentice ever became the Republican nominee for president.
