Marco Rubio Humiliated As His Own Campaign Leaks That They Want Him to Quit

Senator Marco Rubio was the Republican Party establishment’s second favorite after Jeb Bush. They thought he would save the party from the crazies. But polls show Rubio could lose even his home state of Florida to Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner who has been likened by international leaders to Hitler.

Now things are even worse for Rubio as some of his aides leak to CNN that they want the Republican Senator to end his campaign before he is humiliated and risks destroying his “political future”.

CNN reported:

A battle is being waged within Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s campaign about whether he should even remain in the Republican presidential race ahead of his home state primary on March 15, sources say.

Rubio himself is “bullish” on his odds of winning the critical primary, despite some advisers who are less hopeful and believe a loss there would damage him politically in both the short- and long-term.

Publicly, the campaign is maintaining they are still a contender in this race, touting a Sunday win in Puerto Rico’s primary that delivered Rubio 23 delegates. But privately, the campaign is having a debate about whether he should remain in the mix — even for his home state of Florida’s primary.

“He doesn’t want to get killed in his home state,” one source familiar with the discussions said, noting “a poor showing would be a risk and hurt his political future.”

Marco Rubio was an odd choice for the establishment to pin their hopes on, but perhaps this exemplifies exactly how desperate they are. As I’ve said from Rubio’s first higher profile appearance, he lacks presence. Rubio comes off as weak and shaky. He lacks charisma.

Yes, Rubio has a great story but as his homestate’s rejection shows, it’s just a story. Underneath the story is a man who cheated his party out of money, can’t manage his own money, and doesn’t like showing up to work. This is not a good story.

A lazy, entitled person who abused the party credit card is not inspiring. But even worse is Rubio’s utter lack of conviction. When he speaks, you can almost see the etch-a-sketch Mitt Romney in him. He lacks authenticity. If Rubio stays in the race and loses his own state, he will have a very difficult time recovering politically.

Republicans seem to lack the ability to see clearly. They thought Rubio was the next Obama. They thought this because of externals, they never looked deeper but this may be because they still refuse to admit the gravitas Obama brings to the table politically.
