Flaming Racist Sarah Palin Celebrates MLK Day With a Racial Attack on President Obama

In a classic case of projection, Sarah Palin wished everyone a Happy Martin Luther King Day then in her best finger wagging fashion told President Obama to stop playing the race card.

Palin posted from her Facebook bunker of doom,

Happy MLK, Jr. Day!

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mr. President, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and all who commit to ending any racial divide, no more playing the race card.

It’s sad that Sarah Palin is trying to use a quote from Dr. King as a weapon in a racist attack against the President of the United States. Palin couldn’t let MLK Day pass without reminding the world that President Obama is black. Her comments today were just one in a long line of racial attacks against the president. In June, Palin took the airwaves of Fox News to claim that Obama was, “lackadaisical .” When she’s not calling the president a lazy black man, Palin has accused the president of shucking and jiving. Most recently, Palin told African Americans that they don’t know the meaning of the word slavery. She also defended the racist comment from Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson that black people were happy under Jim Crow.

Palin is still consumed by bitterness over losing the 2008 election, and she can’t believe that she and John McCain lost to an African American. Republicans have tried to use the ugly politics of racial divide since before Obama took office, and they have failed every single time.

It would be nice if Sarah Palin could celebrate MLK Day without bringing up the President’s race. But she was the first Governor of Alaska to be sued for violating the law by refusing to issue the 2007 Juneteenth Proclamation (Freedom Day for slaves). Palin also refused to participate in the celebration, becoming the first governor to completely snub the celebration in 2008. The organizers observed, “Gov. Palin was the first governor not to send out a congratulatory letter or assist us in any way with our Juneteenth activities.” (Palin was later accused of bribery by the complaintants.)

Worse still, even after Palin was made aware of the “clerical error”, she refused to remedy it, let alone apologize for it.

Gwen Alexander, founder of the Juneteenth celebration in Anchorage, posted a message on the Daily Kos in 2008, saying, “While meeting with black leaders concerning the absence of any African-Americans on her staff, Gov. Palin responded that she doesn’t have to hire any blacks and was not intending to hire any.”

So it is Palin who seems as obsessed with race as she is with President Obama in general. What Palin really means when she accuses the President of playing the race card is, “Why did I have to lose to you!?!” Insert a huge whine here, followed by references to self as Jesus figure, topped off with a request for cash (aka, finger wagging at Obama).
